Warped and Twisted
Harsh words and violent blows.
Hidden secrets nobody knows.
Eyes are open, hands are fisted.
Deep inside I’m warped and twisted.

So many tricks and so many lies.
Too many when’s and too many whys.
Nobody is special, nobody is gifted.
I’m just me, warped and twisted.

Sleeping awake and chocking on a dream.
Listening loudly to a silent scream.
Call my mind, the number isn’t listed.
Lost in someone, so warped and twisted.

On my knees, alive but dead.
Look at the invisible blood I have bled.
I’m not gone, my mind has drifted.
Don’t expect much, I’m warped and twisted.

Burnt out, wasted, and hollow.
Today is just yesterday’s tomorrow.
The sun died out; the ashes sifted.
I’m still here warped and twisted.

Letters That Never Return” speaks to the ache of longing, unspoken words, and the silence that lingers when love remains unanswered. Paired with Dave White’s illustration Beach Dog, the poem reflects on memory, loss, and the fleeting nature of connection—like letters adrift, never finding their way back.

  • The Inheritance of Silence

    The Inheritance of Silence

She was born into silence, her mother’s whispered prayers fastening an invisible mask across her face. It was meant to protect, to keep the storm at bay. But masks crack. One day hers slipped, and in the blinding light she discovered both the cost of freedom and the weight of inheritance.
