Loving You, Losing Me

White, Dave. Cruising. September 7, 2024, Dave White Illustrations
Loving you felt like shoes on the wrong feet,
Every step is unsteady, an incomplete beat.
I could still move, but something felt wrong,
A rhythm off-key in a broken song.
Loving you felt like the wrong side of the bed,
Each morning heavy, a fog in my head.
The sun would rise, but I couldn’t see,
The weight of frustration consuming me.
Loving you felt like living alone,
Sharing space, yet my heart turned to stone.
Hours of silence, a ghost by my side,
Your presence forgotten; my loneliness amplified.
Loving you felt like pouring too deep,
Draining my soul, no strength left to keep.
I gave you my all, down to the last drop,
Yet the cup stayed empty, and I couldn’t stop.
Loving you felt like gasping for air
Anxiety gripping, a breathless despair.
My lungs collapsed under love’s cruel sting,
An endless fall without a wing.
Loving you felt like signing my death,
I’d give my last heartbeat, my final breath.
Like Juliet longing for Romeo’s embrace,
I would have died to be loved in your space

The Warrior’s Pen
The Warrior’s Pen captures the resilience of a writer who turns wounds into words and battles with ink instead of swords. Each line becomes both armor and healing, transforming pain into art. A declaration that writing is not only expression but survival, this piece celebrates courage through creativity.
