Founding Story of Poetic Bipolar Mind
Poetic Bipolar Mind began quiet journey in 2009 as Temperamental Mental Soup—a hidden corner of the internet where words could breathe without fear. It was an anonymous blog, a private refuge for poetry and reflections that wrestled with mental health, identity, and the haunting beauty found in life’s shadows.
Back then, it wasn’t yet a creative sanctuary—just a raw and unfiltered outlet for feelings often kept in the dark. Each entry was a confession without an audience, exploring the tangled landscapes of mental illness, grief, love, and the invisible battles of the mind. Anonymity was my armor, allowing truth to spill without the weight of judgment, in a world that often recoiled from emotional depth.
Yet even in those early days, Poetic Bipolar Mind carried the seeds of something greater. It was rooted in a belief that still guides it now: that art and words can unearth hidden truths, forge connection, and cast light into life’s most shadowed corners.

A Shift Toward Purpose
From 2009 to the mid-2010s, Temperamental Mental Soup quietly gathered a small audience of readers who resonated deeply with its honesty. Posts remained occasional and anonymous, yet readers left heartfelt comments, sharing how the writing made them feel seen.

In 2020, a decision was made to rebrand from Temperamental Mental Soup to Poetic Bipolar Mind—a name that captured both the creative and emotional extremes reflected in the writing and the brand’s emerging identity.
This new name signaled that Poetic Bipolar Mind would no longer be a private corner of the internet but a platform dedicated to art, healing, and connection.

- Poetic Bipolar Mind entered a pivotal new phase, evolving into a collaborative artistic brand through a partnership with illustrator David White.
- Poetic Bipolar Mind relaunched its website with a dark, elegant, mobile-responsive design reflecting its gothic and intellectual aesthetic. The site integrated The Art Barn shop, offering the visitors a way to seamlessly purchase pieces from the David White Illustration directly.
2025 – Audience Growth
- PBM saw significant audience engagement through its blog, social media platforms, and email newsletters, expanding its reach across creative and mental health communities.
A Creative Turning Point
The transformation of Poetic Bipolar Mind accelerated in 2024 through a powerful creative and personal collaboration with David White. David, having recently embraced sobriety, poured his energy into illustration—a passion he had set aside for years.
